ℹ️About Proof of Travel
What Proof of Travel is, how it works, and what it is not.
🧾
What is Proof of Travel?
Proof of Travel (PoT) is a neutral verification protocol that records cryptographic evidence of travel-related events at specific points in time. It enables independent verification of ticket lifecycle events without relying on a single database or authority.
🛡️
Why Proof of Travel exists
- Independent verification of ticket issuance and completion
- Reduced disputes between agencies, consolidators, and airlines
- Cryptographic proof without exposing passenger data
- A shared, neutral reference point across systems
⚙️
How Proof of Travel works
- 🎫 Ticket issuance is recorded and cryptographically anchored
- 🛰️ GDS or system attestations are added as independent evidence
- 🏦 BSP or settlement-related events may be recorded
- ✅ Travel completion finalises the Proof of Travel record
🚫
What Proof of Travel is NOT
- Not a booking or reservation system
- Not a passenger or pricing database
- Not a replacement for GDS, airline, or BSP systems
- Not a payment or settlement platform
🔐
Privacy & data protection
No passenger names, pricing, or personal information are stored on-chain. Only cryptographic commitments and event fingerprints are recorded, ensuring privacy while preserving verifiability.
